LUPONG TAGAPAMAYAPA
The lupong tagapamayapa shall continue to be headed by the punong barangay and shall consist of 10 to 20 members. It shall be constituted every three (in lieu of two) years in the manner provided in the Code (399-a). The punong barangay shall appoint the members of this body within the first 25 days from the start of his term of office (399-b & c). The lupon members shall be deemed as persons in authority while in the performance of thier official duties (388 & 406-a).
The adjective "suitable" and the requirement on educational attainment in the qualifications for members of the lupong tagapamayapa, as provided under PD 1508 (Katarungang Pambarangay Law), were not incorporated in the Code.
Pangkat ng Tagapagkasundo
For every dispute brought before the lupon, a conciliation panel (pangkat ng tagapagkasundo) shall be formed consisting of three members to be chosen by the parties to th dispute from among the members of the lupon (404-a).
